The SBOC Food Drive is successful because of the volunteers and the communities willingness to provide food. The drive consists of 3 events.
Want to get involved?!
Reach out to us via the contact page or facebook prior to the Distribution Day. We will tell you where to get flyers and where the most need is.
The Kick Off Event
The purpose of the event is to generate excitement and educate the community, specifically the youth. Original the drive was started in this area by a local Churches youth group. So we are making it a point to involve the youth leadership. In the past, we had leaders from the food pantries there to provide awareness of their need.
Distribution Day
SBOC Volunteers meet at a local church and are given door hangers and are assigned routes. They walk the routes and distribute the door hangers to the homes. The door hanger requests the residents to donate food and leave the food in bags or boxes the following Saturday.
